Got It!!!

Post by viclioce »

I got the Combat Wombat Sunday. They put off Todd’s (the seller) work so he messaged me and said he would still meet me half way!

We planned on meeting in Tucumcari, but his drive distance was a little bit shorter than mine so he continued West on I-40. We met at an exit at Mile Marker 300, an exit which goes north to a large reservoir.

He had the carb & the throttle assembly as well. Got it home and the first thing I did was mount the air box cover! LOL!

So it has begun! I mounted the carb today, even though it hadn’t been cleaned yet. I’ve already prepared a list of replacement parts and things like cables, some new screws for ones missing on the cases, and also a set of instrument lamps for the Green Toad! So here’s just one pic. Been busy and haven’t gotten it out of the garage but once today. :ugeek: Victor

And Captain Eddie & ThrownChain, I’m not going to keep the turquoise pipe tune. Victor

That's probably for the best Vic. Even seasoned professional racers have trouble controlling the "hit" from turquoise tuned Combat pipes!

I'm guessing the decision to paint the pipe turquoise was the result of someone not being able to control the "hit".

Actually, moving the turquoise section back 38-40cm will smooth out the power band.. Just be VERY careful not to get any on the rear tire!

LOL! Now that’s funny right there, I don’t care who you are!

It appears the entire pipe had been painted that turquoise color at one time. Not sure why. Maybe just P.O. preference. But it’s going to be black again. Don’t know if I can find turquoise high heat engine paint!!! :ugeek: Victor

Started my purchase list for Hodaka Parts Inc. So far, I’m up to $387.93.

List doesn’t include top end rebuild parts yet, nor does it include tires.

At least there won’t be any shipping charges! :ugeek: Victor
