Ace 90 Clutch Side Case

Post by viclioce »

Looking for confirmation, since I’m not near Alan to check in person. I’m in NM & he’s in British Columbia.

Is the Ace 90 clutch side case and the Ace 100 clutch side case, the same case? Are they the same size & bolt pattern?

I’m assuming they are. I want to send him a spare case cover as his is very worn down on the outside. Thanks in advance. :ugeek: Victor

The Ace 90 dipstick hole is on top of the cover, the Ace is at the back. Other than that they are the same.

What Dan said. The Super Rat (98) and Super Combat (97) also are the same as the Ace 90 with the dipstick located at the top of the side cover.

But the bolt patterns are the same for all the non-oil-injected engines. (This is based on observation and my limited handling of model 97/98 side covers). And they are interchangeable. It's just difficult to get the dipstick out of the top if the exhaust is in the way.

FYI the dipsticks are diff length as well, you will need to make sure you are not checking oil with a short stick. Make sure you have the right length stick for the side case you have. Bruce

Since we are making observations, the angled dipsticks from the 100 and common 125s covers interferes with the kick starter when used on the 97/98, keeping it from fully tucking in, and occasionally catching your boot.

So, if you put an Ace 100 clutch cover on an Ace 90, do you leave the 100 dipstick or do you use the 90 dipstick? :ugeek: Victor
