175 Piston Modifications

I don't see very many of these and original Hodaka pistons are non existant as far as I know. Replacement Wiseco's do not have the intake side boost port.

Also, Wiseco recommends drilling two holes in the piston with a bridged exhaust port. Holes are drilled in the exhaust skirt centered on the exhaust port bridge .300 inch below bottom ring and .375 inch apart. Hole diameter recommended is .060 to .090 inch. I used a 1/16th inch drill bit which is .062 inch. I don't think I would recommend going any larger. Exhaust bridge on the 175 is not that wide and you need a little fudge factor if your measurements are off a little.

I did this exhaust bridge drilling just like you told me on the Red Toad! It’s working very well! :ugeek: Victor
