Engine build question.

Post by Larry S »

Will a iron barrel Wombat top end bolt to a Ace 100B bottom end?

I believe the answer is no, because the bolt pattern for the Wombat is wider apart than for the Ace.

There was a 125 upgrade made for the Ace, by Webco, I believe, but those have become very hard to find these days. ; D Victor

Victor is right. Different stud pattern plus 8mm studs on 125 vs 6mm on Ace engines. Different cylinder spigot diameters too.

Is your goal to just build a 125? Or is your goal to build a motor which will fit in an Ace frame?

There are more options of which you may not be aware. How about disclosing to us a little more about what you are thinking? :ugeek: Victor

I have an iron barrel wombat motor. May need a new cylinder, or may be boreable, need to check with my boring guy. Rest of the motor is in decent shape.

My daily rider is a Ace 100B.I' m a little fart 125 lb. I want to be able to cruse at 55. I can do that now,but the engine is working hard. I am going to build a bad ass engine that looks stock. I want to be able to cruse at 55-60 without overworking the engine.I think I can do this on my own,but if it is over my head Ron Leddle can build it for me.

Dropping a 125cc engine into an Ace frame is loads of fun. This bike easily hits 60 Mph cruising speed. If only I had another Circle F... :|
