Re: Official Hodaka 'Workshop" manuals
Matt, Terry will be adding more helpful items to his web site as we move forward with the giant task of getting the Hodaka suppliers, parts and pieces, he has bought, to put in place back at his location, inventoried, and finalized. "Supplier to the Hodaka World", Its a big job, and when all done, we will be able to realize what is ahead in the future for us, its going to be great. Bruce

Hi Bruce, Wow it already is. Terry already has many service bulletins and other literature published on Hodaka-Parts. Everything looks very promising in Hodaka world!!! I can't adequately put to works how thankful I am for guys like you and Terry.

Re: Official Hodaka 'Workshop" manuals
Matt & I aren't talking about bootlegging for personal fame & profit.
I'm willing to take 15 minutes a day to put together a PDF file of the B+ owners manual & Ace/93 Rat Workshop manual till it's done.
My question, and Matt's too I think, is does the Hodaka Club want this kind of effort to provide material help to members in an attempt to expand or at least maintain?
I just sent an Ace key switch assembly and a VM 20 needle jet and jet needle to a guy that just bought an Ace basket case & needed help. Gratis.
Parts weren't doing me any good sitting in my basement. All I asked is that he spring the $24 for membership.
I'm no salesman, but come-on.
I ride a motorcycle.
I'm afraid of taking a chance to help a guy that's gonna try to rescue one of these things?
Now he's got the thing sort of running you know he's going to be a potential customer for either of the guys in Idaho or Missouri.
That helps. There's no disrespect here.

Re: Official Hodaka 'Workshop" manuals
Thank you Al and Matt, my comments where not intended to you two ambassadors of the Hodaka World, I know you will do the honorable thing, but many out there will not. Since the transition of the ownership of the trademarks and etc plus parts to Terry Larson, from Paul, the general readership of this forum, need to be reminded, be careful of what is printed and how that printed matter is intended for what use. We must be respectful of Terry Larson and his future. It is going to bigger and better than we have ever seen before. He has so many ideas of what he wish,s to bring to the Hodaka World, we will all be surprised, we need to support him as best we can, until the transition is complete. Keep up the great work and help with the Hodaka World, we need more like you guys to pick up the marque and keep it high on the flag pole. Thanks agian, Bruce Young

Re: Official Hodaka 'Workshop" manuals
I have only respect for the financial risk Terry has taken.
More power to him.
I wouldn't have the guts to do it.
Please consider this:
If you are going to join a club, and you have skin in the game, are you going to ask 'may I' to help a club member?
Paul just left.
I don't blame him. I probably woulda too.
I don't speak for anybody but me.
I think the club should take some responsibility and give Terry a break. He's got PLENTY on his plate.
Let's have a crack at making decisions to help guys that are willing to take that basket case to a runner.
Members can act and help. I'm willing to do it.
Does the Hodaka Club want to encourage this approach, or shall we leave it to Terry?
Like I said, isn't he busy enough?

Re: Official Hodaka 'Workshop" manuals
If anything like what we are discussing were to ever take place it would require the complete blessing and legal endorsement from Terry. From a business perspective, it would only make sense if it would serve to direct parts and complete motorcycle business to his firm as Al pointed out. As an aside, he is already doing a remarkable job of publishing a lot of Hodaka literature on the Hodaka_Parts website. Check it out. Its awesome. Kudos to you, Terry!
Re: Official Hodaka 'Workshop" manuals
The official website library is good, but not great. It also lacks the charts with frame & engine numbers which were on the SH site. But the parts lists are easy to read, clear and you know what Terry has. And he answers the phone, which is an A+ in my book! He also ships super fast! I put in an order on Tuesday and it delivered on Friday! I’m not as far as some, but New Mexico isn’t by any means clearly always recognized as a State! LOL!!! Victor

Re: Official Hodaka 'Workshop" manuals
On my Yamaha site, we have a collection of PDF scans of original factory manuals for most Yamaha models of interest to our members. Currently they are free downloads to members. Members have donated materials, I have purchased many for the site. Essentially doing what is mentioned above.
These manuals are generally not available from Yamaha, and are often sold on EBay for $10-$50 each!
Unless Tery approves a similar setup on the club site, I don't expect we would make full manuals available even to members. POssibly some sort of small fee with and a license to do so from Terry might make it possible. I will discuss with Teery as we move the club site forward.
We WILL have a cool library of downloadable Resonators, plus many member contributed how-to articles, and scans of any vintage articles we find orare contributed by folks. We are trying to increase the value of club membership.
Great discussion and ideas, and we will work to come up with a solution acceptable to all!

Re: Official Hodaka 'Workshop" manuals
Terry has to know that providing service manuals and parts manuals at an inexpensive price will increase his sales. I remember buying a Wombat manual from Bill & it wasn’t that expensive, being a Xerox copy of the Wombat 125 manual. Considering that Terry is now realistically the ONLY Hodaka new parts supplier, I hope he will work with us. Posting copies of the few manuals available and also the published parts list manuals will provide more people with access of both parts needed & where to purchase them.
Possibly posting the available pages with The Hodaka-Parts.com website info on each page and Terry’s Business phone number do that people can find what they need and be directed to his website.
Maybe all we would really need is a redirect link to the different microfiche links already on Terry’s website? Victor
