Model 93 rat motor

Post by thrownchain »

This is a non reeded motor, were they plain or painted black when new?

Cases - satin pewter-ish paint. Cylinder head - natural unpainted alloy. Cylinder - flat black. I've seen some cases that were simply burnished that look awfully nice too.

Before I get too deep into this motor, (already have it apart), would anyone be interested in it as is? Or should I go ahead and do the rebuild?

As to the case finish, I was gonna have it vapor blasted and see how that looks.

Bruce's contact isn't interested, so it's still available or I'll just go ahead and overhaul it. Might be ready for York, or for HD.

Motor #: M 87xx, needs crank rebuilt, will need new bore although the cylinder looks to be stock or near that, ( didn't have piston in it) . The post under the sprocket has been welded. Other than that a stock overhaul should cover it , looks good. Has correct ignition and tranny. Missing the kick return spring. Say $325.
