What carb is this?

Post by viclioce »

Paul sent me this incomplete carb. First Mikuni I’ve seen with the throttle cable not connected to the slide. What model is it and how do I release the cable? Thanks! :ugeek: Victor

Almost seems there’s a choke cable on this one? I can’t see how this would activate a carb slide.?.?.?

Looks like a remote choke cable.

Wow a remote choke you won't have to bend over. ----------Clarence

That is a choke, nothing to do with the slide.

It’s a 20mm I believe. But I can’t figure out how to remove the choke cable from inside. Don’t know if it’s rusted or if there is some kind of release??? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone???? :ugeek: Victor

Unscrew the cable housing from the carb body. After that the choke plunger is similar to the slide, should be a spring and a slot in the choke plunger. Once you disengage the cable it should pull out, or you might have to unscrew the smaller cable adjuster from the bigger housing. If I have one I'll post pics.

Yes. I could unscrew the cap but it is dark and rusted inside. Can this be converted back to a manual choke? I have all the needed parts. Orfoes it stay as is?

As long as the choke housing is the same size, I don't see why you couldn't convert it.

And for those people who want to do it, if you can find the parts you can change your choke set up to be cable activated from a lever on the bars.
