Yes I do
Yes I do have a question. Trying to pull the frount fork seals on a super rat, the seals are coming out very hard. Any simple solutions? --------------Clarence
Re: Yes I do
I'm guessing that they have the metal band around them. They get frozen in over time in are very difficult to remove.
I soak them and apply heat cycles with an electric heat gun. And on several occasions I have cut them out. Very carefully, using a dremel and a sharpened screwdriver.

Dremel? - now you're talkin'!
Re: Yes I do
Ha, Yes a dremel. But not clear through the metal ring in fear of getting into the seal carrier. If you cut it partially through in several spots it will weaken and you can get a sharpened screwdriver behind it and bend it in. Now you can grab it and twist it out.matt glascock wrote:Dremel? - now you're talkin'!

I've had to cut and wad up a couple of these in the last few years. Can you still get the seals without the band? I need some Ace 100 fork seals without the band please!

I have only seen the ones without bands for sale these days. They work just fine if you install them with the outside edge dry. Otherwise they push out in use.hodakamax wrote:I've had to cut and wad up a couple of these in the last few years. Can you still get the seals without the band?
