New And Improved Petcocks

Hey everyone! I’m new here and just bought my first Hodaka ace 100. I’m so excited to start working on it. But, I don’t know much about motorcycles. Please don’t laugh at me. Lol. We all start somewhere right. Ok. My question is. Why does it have two petcocks? And by the way I have learned so much already because of this forum. Thank you all in advance.

The twin petcock set-up provides a fuel reserve. Specifically, if you run the bike to empty with the left petcock only open, by opening the right petcock, you get another quart or so of reserve fuel previously sequestered on the right side of the tank. You are in for a blast with that Ace 100. Welcome to the group!
