Shop manual

Post by Dean Simms »

Hi everyone, I'm a new member to the club. I'm a proud new owner of a 71 ace100b+. I was hoping for a recommendation for a good shop manual for my hodaka. I need to clean the carburetor it doesn't want to idle hoping just something clogging the air mixture . Do you need to remove the exaust pipe for access to remove the carb and air cleaner. The bike is all original . Are there anything available for these stock carbs. rebuild kits ?

Dean,
Not all models had a specific shop manual written for them. The Ace 90/100/100mx manual should cover the B+ for nearly everything that you would need. By referencing the online parts schematics and the online model specifications, you can typically figure out any differences that you might encounter. Here is a link to the manual found at Strictly Hodaka.
https://www.strictlyhodaka.com/product-p/209000.htm

Also, if you joined the Hodaka Club, you can go to the club site and download the past issues of the club newsletter (Resonator). There is a detailed article on cleaning a Hodaka carburetor. Well worth the read.

Good luck and welcome,
Dale

True, you might find this at Hodaka-Parts as well, but I did check before my posting and did not find it listed. Either way, this is a good manual if you can get your hands on one.

Carb rebuild kits are offered by both Strictly Hodaka and Hodaka-Parts Inc. Check their sites for availability.
