I am building a reed valved 100 motor for my 100 19?? Hodaka. Using 100cc aluminum road toad cylinder, intake manifold with reeds, road toad carb. and air cleaner, straight cut primary gears, the improved 5 plate clutch, The improved forks, and a down pipe. 18-19 inch wheels, cushioned rear hub. Haven't finished it yet but when done will try to sell it as I have had my fun on Hodaka's years ago and have to many aches and pains to enjoy riding now days.
Nice to see that my project isn't weird. I had a 90cc when there were those and 100 only. I put a Webco reed valve intake with a 24mm carb. Also used a Vanteck front fork. Most racers back then said that reed valves were a waist of time but I could out run a lot of 125's.

Out of curiosity, how you are putting straight cut primary gears in the Toad motor? When I built my Toad racer I fond that the straight cut gears from earlier engines would not fit.

Ah, memories! Luvit! Early reed valves, Van Tech forks (and Cerianis), fabricating new pipes and installing giant Amals. Good times for sure. I finally wore out my Sears Hi-speed grinder from too many experiments. Just reminiscing on a good time in life that was fun and good for the soul.

A few years ago I rebuilt a Road Toad engine and was amazed by the cylinder and it's giant exhaust port. Just what we needed in the day--ITD. Just watching, had my day in such things but even though I've raced "The Last Great Race" a few years back I'll still cheer you on in your fun project! Keep us posted. :)

Ossa95D - What kind of issues did you have fitting up the HT2 pipe and did you have to adapt the header slip fit size or change out the slip fit adapter? I think you said the engine was basically stock - is the pipe "pipey" with that lon skinny stinger???

Thanks LBM

LBM,
I sent you a PM but the pipe fit easily with no modifications and it has a very nice broad powerband.

Thank you for listing the parts used on your Race Bike!
I too am working similar project and have been trying to find fenders that would work.
Looks like you used the 77/78 yz 125 front and rear fenders?

Thanks!
