Kick start lever does not return

Also, my combat wombat kick starter does not return, spring back up, after kicking down.
It looks like I have to split the cases to fix this. Am I correct?

Return spring in good shape? Not broke? Unless the kick shaft is bent, the problem should be fixable from the outside.

Make sure the end of the spring is in the hole on the back bottom of the kick start lever. If it’s out, the lever won’t return. Victor
