Interested in Hodaka Super Rat

Post by moparmusclecars »

I had a Ace 100 back in my junior high years, and was considering finding a Super Rat to hang on to. I would like it to have the shiny tank and all. Are those the years 1970-73? Also what kind of values are on those bikes? Example like restorable not running, average shape, etc? Just need some kind of idea what to expect to pay for one. Would i be able to find something needing complete restoration for $500.00 on up? Am I looking at $1000.00-1500.00 for a running bike? Am I looking for something tough to find? Just curious. Thanks!

Your guesses are about right. Tho Rats are among the most sought-after Hodies, you can find decent runners for$1000-1500, "projects" vary greatly. Occasional steals, but sometimes the cost of resurrecting a project exceeds that of a decent runner. Cherry rats are quite costly (sky's the limit for collectors).

I don't know where you are located but there is a Kevin Adams near Denver, CO that had several Super Rats for sale. Most of his have powder coated frames and are fairly well restored. Prices are in the $2500 - $3000 range. If you are interested in that location and price range reply back and I will give you his phone number offline.

Hey Bill,

I'm located in Colorado as well! Can you connect me with this guy? Or do you have any other local sources for extra parts?

Thanks
