Relocated a new ignition switch and mounted blinkers, horn and everything needed for the German traffic laws. Next week ill take it to get approved or not.

Well done, that is one fine looking machine, and best of luck with the TUV.
When I lived in Rheinland Pfalz, I had my old '66 Triumph with me and the TUV inspectors were less than kind. I know they had a job to do and they had their reasoning but they seemed to despise old machines. I was there with the American military and fell under some special qualifications because of the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) but those inspectors wanted me to do everything to that old bike before they'd issue a number shield and a disk. I'm willing to bet they were just some bad apples but I they tested everything, i.e. measuring my brake shoes and their clearance to the drums, wheel run out, headlight aim and so many more things requiring some disassembly. Also, I recall they didn't want my old British bike to leak (that'd be a miracle) and wanted me to install turn signals too, thought they never had them when new. I lucked out on my third go around with the veteran inspector, he was an old bike guy and liked Jack Daniel's and wanted a T-shirt from the Isle of Man, I was due to take that bike there the following week. With that he signed off everything with a wink Needless to say he got 2 shirts and 2 bottles.

Awesome. I love it when one hand washes the other in the ongoing war to stamp out needless, inconvenient rules overseen by needless, inconvenient jerks. By the way, is that where your handle "Bevman" comes from?

Re: Hodaka 250 sl 70a finished
Matt, I couldn't agree more. As far as the name...it's just a coincidence. However, I'm not above taking on the roll, to "grease the wheels." Not to get to philosophical but I believe you get what you give, and that if you do good... you'll attract good and good people. Personally, I found the German culture to be wonderful, warm and welcoming (food and beer are amazing too.) I gained many friends while there through motorcycles and always found great people that were willing to share stories of themselves or relatives and they were more than welcome to invite you back to their home for a beer and a chat. That's why we're going back there later this year to visit friends.

Hey Bevman, I sent you a PM (I think). Let me know if I did it correctly. I'm not too computer savvy.

Beautiful example of a SL250!! Great job!! I have always loved these bikes. I passed on buying a Thunderdog at a bike show last weekend. After seeing yours, I am glad I did. I will wait until I find the right SL250. Linc
Re: Hodaka 250 sl 70a finished
Very nice. I hope big fun is in your future. The 250SL was not the best looking bike Hodaka made. The 250SL was not the fastest bike they made. I have owned 2 and found them to be the smoothest, most comfortable and all around FUN play bikes Hodaka did make. If you are bigger and heavier like a lot of us have become, it is a great all around bike. I wish I still had one in my shop.

So , it went through the German traffic safety control inspection(TÜV). It passed and is now registered to be legally driven on the German Autobahn.
Re: Hodaka 250 sl 70a finished
Congratulations!!! I think you're going to spend as much time talking to people about Hodaka's as riding yours. There can't be too many that have made their way in Germany. I do remember seeing a lot of 2 stroke oldtimer's during my time there, usually Zundapp, MZ and Jawa's out and about as well as a fair number of DKW's and NSU Quicklys when I'd ride around.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

Thanks, according to the authorities here it’s the only one registered in Germany ever. The inspector enjoyed test driving it.
