What are some of the reasons why a bike runs better with the choke " ON"

Um, I'll go wayeeee out on the limb and wager that THE problem is a plugged pilot jet or plugged internal passage of the pilot circuit. That is not only one of the reasons your bike has that symptom . . . it is probably THE reason.

Cleaning as a reality aside, if it IS clean then the problem could also be the pilot jet is too small. Just one other possibility. Clean the pilot jet & circuit and then while you have the pilot jet out, read the number on it. Victor
