Iron wombat cylindre victory port

Post by racerclam »

I just wanted to share a picture of a victory port I just completed for Bill Cook , I have done several of these but couldnt share pics on the old chat group format , But I know how on this one. This mod is a real waker upper for Iron cylinder wombats , Jay Lael Is one of the guys running this on a trials bike with great results . This one for Bill is for a cross country bike. To use this port a combat wombat piston must be used .

Just curious, how does the stock Wombat port timing compare with the stock Combat Wombat port timing? I'm guessing the CW has a higher exhaust port, but what about the transfers and intake ports?

I've got a Victory Ported iron Wombat cylinder that I may use someday. I couldn't make sense of it at first...thought it was the result of a misguided PO screwing around with a Dremel.

The modified 94 Wombat engine was in a junker 98 Super Rat bitsa bike - with lots of non-Hodaka bits. I tried selling the frame and downswept pipe for 30 bucks at Hodaka Days, but nobody bought them, so I gave them to Rich/racerclam. I bet he'll turn that frame into something special someday.

Besides the changeover to a Combat piston, will the Victory Port work with the stock Wombat carburetor and exhaust?

Thanks,
Darrell

Brian , the transfer heights are the same on both but the combat exaust port id 27.5 mm and the wombat is 32 and an 03 exaust is 30.5 with transfers at 39

Rich, you have (no doubt) handled more cylinders than I have . . . but stock Combat Wombat exhaust port height is supposed to be 28mm and the 03 cylinder is supposed to be at 30mm. (of course exhaust port heights could vary by half a mm - .020" relatively easily I suppose)

Yep Ed they are not perfect ! hat matters most is that my finished product works and not where it began . Transfers arnt always equal from side to side .And engines of all makes can be blue printed to be made as perfect as possible . But you are aware of this .
