Hello
Working on a 74 Road Toad 100cc. What is the proper torque spec. I searched the forum but was slightly confused because this engine is very similar to the ACE 100, so I'm not certain of the proper head bolt torque spec. Thanks.
105 in/lbs, 170in/lbs or 220in/lbs -74 Road Toad

THe Toad has the same cylinder studs as the 125 , so technically will take the same torque. What Harry had told me years ago when my Super combat had head leakage was to torque to 220 as the factory spec was bogus , doing that stopped the leak. However the toad with it smaller bore will not reall need the same clamping force but cant hurt anything either so if it dont leak at 170 fine and if you torque to 220 fine also.

And divide inch pounds by 12 to convert to foot pounds! (:mrgreen) Victor

Thank you. That helps explain my confusion.

Would that figure apply to the Dirt Squirt (96) as well?

No. Toaster tank Squirts with iron cylinders (and 6mm cylinder studs) = 105 in-lbs. Nothing more.
