Hi group. Another pre weekend post!
As some have you have seen, I've been trying to get this Ace 100 started, just to hear it run, before I sink a ton of money in it.
I bought it not running and just realized the return spring on the kick is not functioning.
How hard is this spring to get to?
And is there a possibility the lever was removed and the spring was not seated properly to the lever arm?
I thought I read the spring may actually interface with the kickstart arm.
thanks for ALL of your help on these beginning little issues.

Re: '69 Ace 100 Kick starter return spring
Here's a picture to help you out!
The Spring is under a round cover between the kick start lever and the right rear case. #34 is the Spring, #35 is the cover & #36 is the kick start lever. The short end of the Spring mounts into a hole in the side case, and the cover goes over the long end of the Spring, and comes thru the cover & goes into the small hole seen here in the kick start lever. Hope this helps! Victor

Kelly McKiernan has produced an excellent video on replacing the kick starter lever on a Super Rat. The mechanism is the same and he goes through it step by step. It is on utube. I believe it is titled "Super Rat Project #4". Its really well done and easy to follow.

Thanks guys,
I managed to get that lever all apart. The spring was fine, just bent and not connected to the lever at all. Awesome!. After an hour of wrestling with the slippery cup I managed to get it on there and get the alignment and rubber stand-off all back together. thanks!
