(2) 1972 Ace 100
Hi All,
As my name says I am a complete novice. I am in possession of these motorbikes. One appears to be 95% complete the other about 85%. I got them as a result of an uncle passing. Nobody wanted them so I was left to take them.
One shows approx 650 miles, there about 1100. Where do I start to research them. I am inclined to sell them, because I do not ride. Than you in advance. Just be for warned I have lot of questions.
Thank you!

You've come to the right place. First off where are you located? Can you post up some pics? And welcome to the "group".

Re: (2) 1972 Ace 100
Hello,
Here are some pictures. these were taken before they were sent to me. I will take some better ones this weekend. I also forgot to mention another chrome gas take came with them. They also came with (2) other small bikes, one had an Hodaka engine the other looks like a frame.
I cannot confirm what they are so I don't want to post picture, the website said nothing other than Hodaka.

Post pics of the other stuff also, we're a pretty diverse group and should be able to identify most cycle related stuff.

Re: (2) 1972 Ace 100
First, condolences on the loss of your uncle. You are much more fortunate than you might believe. What you've posted are pictures of a pair of Ace 100B+ motorcycles which are in great shape. The B+ is the ultimate iteration of the Ace line of Hodaka motorcycles and are exceptionally well-engineered dual-purpose bikes. The minibikes are possibly Bonanza minibikes or other kit minibikes framed to accept the Hodaka engine. These are all highly desirable, collectible, and valuable bikes. To come across a pair of B+'s like that which are in great shape, with low mileage, and unmolested is becoming a vanishingly rare event. Ditto (and perhaps more so) on the minibikes. Now if one of the other bikes happens to be a Rickman Micro-Metisse, you've found a diamond in a goldmine. You had a very cool uncle. Congratulations!

Just some homemade handy work on the stock swingarm and some after market shocks from that period.

Looks like a welded on and drilled out for lightening purposes swing arm reinforcement. I was just wondering if that was an accessory offered by Hodaka. Thanks Kelly.

Re: (2) 1972 Ace 100
I am so thankful for you help. Here are the pic I took of the (2) I noticed one was missing that small redbox. Here are 2 pic of the other bike. The white one shown is complete, the other is blue no engine, or carburetor. I just got they found manuals and toolkit even a helmet.
I was told that he was working on taking some weight off the one that is missing parts.

OK lets start with the Steen, I posted a photo of one I did a few years ago. You have a very complete bike and the couple parts missing isn big deal. Easy sell, people like them and it would be a fun project.

Steen? Okay So I have (4) bikes. How should I go about selling them? I am not a builder, I would like them to go to somebody who can get them to people who would appreciate them.

The other two B+ you have are great, I added a photo of mine in the California desert. These are great bikes and you have everything needed for a good restoration or a preservation of one to make a really solid bike. The part missing on the one is the battery box. Many parts a available from our suppliers and eBay.

I notice one has a plate, did you get any paper work? But that may not be a issue as its from a family member.

You can start by posting them for sale on the "marketplace" page on the Strictly Hodaka website. There you will find a large and enthusiastic group of Hodaka aficionados.

Hodaka Days is coming up in Athena Oregon in 3 1/2 weeks, haul 'em up and mingle with other Hodaka people. You may be able to sell all of them and come home a little richer while making others happy.

Do that and you'll want to keep at least one for yourself, dust it off and learn to ride. They are a blast, and Hodaka folk are the coolest and most helpful when it comes to getting these insanely sweet bikes back on the dirt.

Re: (2) 1972 Ace 100
Good morning,
I hadn't planned on keeping one. But, I can see how people love them. They are beautiful. Would I sell the incomplete one and the Steen's? I also got a 1975 BMW R60/6. It was quite surprising to see how many bikes were left. Thank god I have the room for now.
