HD 2017 Shirt Design

Post by bobwhitman »

Become famous as a designer! Paris awaits...

We need a good design (or two) for the 2017 HD Tee Shirt. Eweleen & Max Goode worked up last year’s design, and honcho’d them through production for us. The shirts were excellent quality, got great reviews, and they are willing to help again, but we need to come up with a suitable design, especially for the back side of this year’s shirts.

Designs need to be fairly simple and should require as few colors as possible, to facilitate production.

Please shoot your ideas to me ASAP, so we can lock in a design soon, in order to take advantage of Eweleen’s limited time!

None - we eliminated that aspect, due to lack of interest a year or two ago.

I see. Looking at the Club website I assume that a raffle bike is not in the works as well. Cool. What I was thinking may seem pedestrian but cool and likely straightforward from a manufacturing perspective. How about say a giant Super Rat air box decal facsimile (or a Toad or a Squirt) on the back. They are without a doubt absolutely iconic. They'd look great on the back of a shirt. I'm pretty sure this would require a thorough discussion with Paul and written permission. For the benefit of the Club, which he obviously supports, I'd bet he would allow it.

How about a where's Waldo type map of Athena? Then put in where the local landmarks would be, Harry's house, Chucks house, the warehouse, the Gem theatre, etc.?( the park). Could be fun. Even put in where the events are held.

Ok, maybe not the houses, but Harry's house should have been a local if not national landmark. Just sayin'.

Hmm, Matt might be on to something with the air boxes. I wonder if any line art exists for them. It could have more than one box on the back or just one large one plus info type. Just thinkin'.

Appreciate the ideas, guys, both good (not goode). The map has the great virtue of simplicity, which helps greatly with design & production!

Max, I was thinking of something that would, at least theoretically, be relatively easy to reproduce on a t-shirt and scream "Hodaka". Here's another thought. There's also a funny map that was printed on the back of an envelope that came with a bunch of Hodaka paper odds 'n ends I picked up awhile back. I think it was a mailer for the Roadrash calendar. Along with the parts distribution hubs and funny stuff, it featured, apparently, a location where one could likely score some rope if interested. 'How convenient' said I. That graphic is clever, cool, funny, and may be directly transferable. In addition, it was printed entirely in orange and black thus simplifying the color graphic requirements for the silk screening process.
