Wombat 94 rebuild parts

Post by Bill2001 »

The last Winter project will be spitting the cases on my Wombat 94. The engine is worn but runs "well".

The piston siezed last year and a new piston was installed and the cylinder honed. I'll reuse that top-end rebuild.

I'm assembling major rebuild parts and will get minor parts as needed.
What is usually needed on a worn engine of this vintage? I have a bearing-seal-gasket kit and SH clutch plates. I plan to get a SH super-duper shift springs. The shifter cover bushings are good and tight. I'll have the crank rebuilt. I'll blueprint the clutch. What other minor parts are usually needed on a rebuild, such as kickstarter rollers and parts?

Yessir, inspect the kick shaft and kick start rollers for any damage. Make sure you use the heavy duty kick roller retainer on the rebuild.

Look for pitting on the kick start shaft where the rollers lock------------Clarence

The machined "new and improved kickstart roller retainer is part# 994714. It's listed under "engine parts" and not on the schematics. Kickstarter improvements seem to be a good idea.

And check, check, check on the other parts.
