This Winter I'm splitting the case and redoing my Wombat94 engine. The report from the PO about it being a fresh rebuild was a tad optimistic. I like to start gathering major parts in advance.
I know I will need a gasket, seal and bearing kit. We're going to pop the crank and redo it, so I'll get a crank kit. And shifter springs and parts, and kickstart springs and parts. Clutch I don't know about, though I plan to blueprint it, so I might get the plates/springs now and the bushings/shims/release parts while waiting for the shop work. Top end is new-- piston, rings and fresh hone-- so that will be reused.
This should cover the major, big ticket parts. Have I missed anything?

Re: Rebuild parts list
Forgot to mention-- I plan to use the available Hodaka crank kit, unless an aftermarket brand is better. Highest use will be a TAT trans-continental run, no 14000 rpm extended runs.

Re: Rebuild parts list
What part of the TAT are you planning to ride? I know a few people that have ridden it and they all suggest at least a semi-modern 400cc bike as the smallest bike to try it on. But, then again, they rode the whole thing, from Tennessee to Oregon.

Andy Blackburn rode his Road Toad on the TAT from Tennessee to Hodaka Days http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/1 ... at.893598/

Yes! I've been reading that Ride Report on ADVRider.
Initial plan is to ride Alabama--> Oregon. Msybe solo, maybe no support vehicle. Crazy, maybe foolish. I had been plotting and planning a Transcon ride to the PNW on my Beemer.
Not being insane, I'll start with "local" 200-300-500 mile trips to test the concept. It's out there, waiting to be done.

Don't forget some Yamabond or similar for case sealant. Good luck with your rebuild, Bill! I hope it all goes smoothly for you! And don't forget the bottom end bushings replacements too! ; D Victor

Re: Rebuild parts list
That list is just the big-ticket, high-dollar items. I'm sure I'll need a lot of many small nickle-and-dime parts as l get into thenrnginr. Hopefully I won't have surprises like gears and countershafts.
