The Discovery channel

Post by RichardMott »

Not a Hodaka posting, but a motorcycle one;

I am in The Dominican Republic this week on business. Scanning the channels in my hotel late last night I came across a made for TV drama called "Harley and the Davidsons" It is the story of the Harley Davidson motor company at the turn of the last century.
I would have enjoyed it more, but unfortunately it was in Spanish. Lo siento, No hablo Español.
I was wondering how a Hodaka story would do as a TV drama. Having heard the stories over the years from Ed, Harry, Chuck and Marv, I would think a good screen writer could come up with a good show.
Just my 2 cents. I would like to see it in English some day. I don't have cable TV at home.

I think that a TV docudrama on the Hodaka story would be great. Hodaka has such a wonderful story. But it would appeal to such a narrow niche audience that it may be a "success". Rather like a docu on the Wright brothers or Nikola Teslsa.

I watched the entire Harley program. It was moving & told well. Seems like the spirit they brought to their initial manufacturing runs was lost on the later generations though. It became all about the bottom $$$$. ; D Victor
