Wombat /combat exhaust
I am thinking of putting a combat wombat exhaust on my reeded early 94 wombat. Does the slip joint from the 94A wombat fit the combat pipe? . If so has anyone experience with swapping the wombat air cleaner over to the other side?
Re: Wombat /combat exhaust
The early 94 Wombats had a screw mount exhaust (screw collar attached to the pipe). The 95 Combat pipe is a slip on (goes into a exhaust manifold that attached to the front of the cylinder with three screws and nuts - not a screw on like the 94). I believe you will need a screw on adapter (like the old Super Rat exhaust manifold) to mount that pipe (if they are available). Not sure about the air cleaner, might take some work to make it clear the pipe as the Combat cleaner is narrower at the top where it is near the pipe. I sure it can be done, just never tried it myself.

Thanks for that
I guess the main Question is if the screw on adapter off the later wombats (which looks similar to the super Rats but would be a larger thread) will fit the combat pipe? Might have to find one and have a go.

Jack,
I measured a 94A Wombat pipe (the one with the slip fit) and a Combat pipe and they both appear to be the same size outside diameter (approx. 41.5 mm), so, with a 94A wombat screw on exhaust manifold, the pipe should fit. Hope that helps.

have managed to find one and its on the way. Will ultimately end up changing to reeded Cw setup on this bike but will be good to fit the combat pipe now as the current pipe is developing holes as fast as I can plug them!
