What oil ratio should be mixed in the gas tank and what oil to use in the transmission?

Be ready for a 1,001 answers. You can always go with the tried and true standards of Yamalube 2R, mixed at 32-1 for the tank (gas/oil mix) and Belray Gear Saver Transmission fluid, 80 wt. for the transmission.

I run 32:1 also. Except for a break in. With a top end rebuild or even just a set of new rings, I drop down to 28:1 for the first couple of tanks & then go back to 32:1.

This is the question every army asks its infantry just before battle, it gets them all riled up. I use 40:1 or 50:1 with my superior oil. Can't go to wrong with 32 and yamalube is a good oil. There are some high tech engines out there and some extreme riders who are using specialty oils. I think the biggest factor is proper jetting. --------- Clarence
