Resonator newsletter article index

Post by Bill2001 »

Is there an index to release the Resonator articles floating around? I've finally gotten all of the .PDF back issues and each new issue I read is an enlightenment. I'm making notes as I go, but I may be reinventing the wheel.

Hello Bill , you said you have now all the back issues on a PDF, first how does one get a copy of what you have to date, I you index those it might job some memories out there as to what might be missing or what will be the best way to put as much as possible into an index file, where do we start.
I know you have been working on your info for awhile, but by starting to publish or make what you have or indexed, might get someone to jump in to help put into a real index. Please let me know if I can help. This is something I talked to Paul and others several years ago, that an index was needed, maybe its time to present. Bruce Young Hodakaparts.com IDAHO. I know if an index was done, it would slow down a lot of misc conversations on the forum, the forum could become even more productive for all concerned. Lets think outside the box and get something going.

Fantastic, this is an index for the new resonator issues for Hodaka Club members, maybe those people whom have not joined the club, might think now maybe I am missing something I need to get involved. It would be to now do the same thing for all the original Resonator issues that many of us have copy's of that where sent out to dealer in the old days. Tie them together with your list of info and then maybe someone has same type of thing for the forum posts, old and new, as well . I know it would be a big job, but with your listing in index, it would be easier to tie them all together. Thanks Bruce Young Hodakaparts.com IDAHO

I was only able to download the 20-or so copies of the Resonator back issues the other day from the Hodaka Club's website and I'm just starting to read them. What a great resource, as well as entertaining. I must have been a librarian in an earlier life 'cause i love to compile and index lists.

If an index was not available I was planning to start on a public index for the club members. SoCal, thanks, your list is a great start. What I see is a cooperative project with members submitting additions and corrections, with the final index being available at the Club website. There may even be a way to integrate that index in with the Adobe .PDF reader.

Bill-

Yep, such an index has been a goal for some time. Kelly kinda got the ball rolling with his efforts, but no one has been able to devote the time and effort to develop one. Bill Chapman undertook a similar task, with his parts list He might be a good resource as to the best way to proceed. Please let me know if I can assist.

Let me get my version of The Index started so I can have a feel for it, and integrate SoCal's (Kelly ?) with it and I'll see what is needed.

Meanwhile, enjoy Hodaka Day...

This is a simple but time consuming project, so Bill jump on it and I will help if you just ask. My suggestion would be to copy all the indexes that are available and past them in a Word Doc or even an Excel Spreadsheet (most volumes have an index on the first page.) Would be nice if the Topic, Volume, Issue and Page were in readable columns so the Excel may be better. There will not be many duplicated topics so it will just turn into a big document that is searchable, but that will be much better than having to open each one looking for something. Then the document will have to be edited each time another issue comes out.

Bob or Gregg I have always wondered why we changed from Volume 1 to Volume 2 and how many issues will Volume 2 have before we start Volume 3?

Someone that knows advanced Word or Excel may can tell us how to make columns of the last digits of each line but I don't know how to do it. What I would do is copy and past like you did and then manually add the Volume, Issue and Page to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th columns. That is why I said time consuming.
