CW main jet for the Bad Rock Ride

Post by RichardMott »

To the brain trust, (Ed).. :roll:

I have a reeded CW that I will be riding in this years Bad Rock. My question is;
I have a 240 main jet. Runs fine here at 1000 to 1500 foot (hills)
Does anyone think this might be too rich at the higher elevations?
The carb has a banjo bolt for easy jet change. I have smaller jets.

Might be rich, but the reed helps flexibility. Bring along tools and smaller jets.

Rick,
My piston port Combat Wombat is jetted just about right for Athena & Weston (about 1700 ft) and gets a bit rich at the top of the Bad Rock Trail Ride (3400 ft). Your reeded Combat Wombat may well handle things just fine as it is jetted right now. But if you brought a 230 main jet with you, you would surely be good to go if you find a jet change is needed while climbing into the Blues.
