I've been puttering with the carb today. Wombat 94, with a replacement engine of the same vintage. Carb is a Mikuni VM24 SH83 "B" Carb is a typical 43 year old card that hasled a full life. Although it works "OK" for now, I'm inclined to budget next year for a new replacement. Life is too short to save nickels and dimes futzing around with an old carb. Only current prob is the O-ring (27) on the needle jet (18) has checked out and I'm unsure about the (non-Mikuni) generic O-ring I have on hand. I have a choice of a 4.4mm ID x 2mm x-sectn or a 5.0 ID and same 2mm x-section. Neither fits perfectly. Does anyone know what the size of the Mikuni O-ring is?
The carb diagram is: http://www.strictlyhodaka.com/Parts-Lis ... s/2113.htm
I bought a couple of O-ring assortments last year so I wouldn't have to run all over hunting o-rings and I still find exceptions. Oh well.

Re: Carb Talk
Bill. Give me the diameter of the O Ring. I have a container full of them in different sizes, all Mikuni carb O Rings. I'd be happy to send you a couple. Message or email me your address. ; D Victor

Re: Carb Talk
I went with the 4.4x2 o-ring, that was the best "average" (inside and out) fit. It'll last the year.
Thanks for the offer, tho
