Tire question?

Post by SuperRat01 »

I need replacement tires (motocross knobbies) for a Super Rat (98). Front 3.00-21, Rear 3.50-18. What modern tires will fit? Thanks, Linc

You can get the vintage sizes in Vee Rubber from All Moto tire. I have them on my 98 Super Rat and like them. Most other brands will run wider than these. Here is a link. http://zwvoq.xqehl.servertrust.com/Sear ... p?Cat=1824

I also have the Vee Rubber on my 95 Combat Wombat and my 97 Suter Combat and they are working fine.

I would still recommend the Cheng Shinn or Duro 4.10-18. They are way smaller than a 100/100-18 and very close in size to a 3.50-18. I will have a few at the York swap meet.

I'm a fan of the Duro.

Ivan,

Do you have any tubes? I need a new one for my trials bike. 400 X 18. I will be at York Saturday and Sunday.

Don't forget Paul, I've bought a few tires from him.

Are the Nitto Tires that Strickly Hodaka have for sale NOS? If so, is it an issue?

I am definately not trying to take anything away from Paul. Rick, if we have the same spot this year I will be right across from Paul at the swapmeet. I'll bring a tube or two. I will give them to Paul and you can buy them from him. :D We are all friends here and this is Paul's forum.

Pop (Ivan)

That would be great. I really appreciate that.
The new location for the Hodaka Club booth is across the hall from Paul. See you there. I should get there about 10 am or so.

My Grandson, who is 27 is the only one that I let call me Pop...

Rick,
My first grandson was the one that came up with "Pop" but now everybody in the family calls me that. I even had it on the back of my helmet for a while. :D Now I have 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. The boys are riders and I think at least one of the girls will be. The other is only 8 months old, too soon to say!

When my oldest grandson was very young, maybe 18-20 months, he would stand at the front storm door and bang it with his hands as he heard me on the bike coming from around the corner. He would bang his hands and say "Bampa, Bampa!" Over and over. The name stuck. I'm known as Bampa to all 3 of my grandsons even now at ages 11-15! ; D Victor
