V-8 Two stroke

Post by hodakamax »

Hey Gang,

Check it out! Being an old 2-stroke guy, I've never seen anything like it!! (And listen to it.)

Maxie

PS--I hope the EPA is not monitoring this site!

Hey Max,

Very cool and it looks like it has case induction too.

Wonder if that engine will fit in my Hodaka 250sl?

Danny, the engine might fit, but what about the fuel tank? (One of our current subjects). Hmm--looks like you're going to need some room for a couple a couple of radiators too. Not looking good at all. :?

PS--And wadda you gonna do with all those chambers?

Greetings

Radical engines have been successfully grafted in motorcycle frames before. This is one from Jesse James. It's not a two stroke, but still interesting.

Tom, that is just bizarre. It reminded me of E.J. Potter with his cross mounted chevy V-8 exhibition drag machine in the 1960s. I met E.J in a restaurant on the road once while traveling to a TT scrambles and he was going to the drags. Years later as free lance photographer covering a national drag race I came upon E,J.s machine still running exhibition at drag races and photographed its run. It still put on a good show. It had no clutch and the launch was to tip it off its stand. Smoke all the way, mighty scary for sure. Early on, as the story goes, the throttle stuck wide open at the big end, E.J. bailed and the engine was found something like one quarter mile into the woods at the end of the run-off. Quite the legend in the day. Anyway. here's the shot.

Thats a cool picture. I was at the local drags on saturday. I had a dream recently that I built a Hodaka 250 drag bike on alchahol , And I have been thinking that if I build another bike thats what I would build. It would be fun.
