Badge removal
Badge removal
Anyone have any hints on how to pull the badges off the tank with out damaging them? I a going to start stripping the paint soon and I would really like to keep the badges intact.
Re: Badge removal
This has worked for me...
Apply light heat to the tank around the badge with a hair dryer. Be very carefull not to over heat the badges. Then use a length of dental floss and cut behind the badge. They will come right off unless someone got carried away with the installation.
Re-install with pure clear silicone. I have also used narrow automotive double backed tape made for mounting trim pieces. I have never had one come off (not yet anyways).
