Probably a stupid question.

Post by Cypher04 »

I have been looking at the schematics and i just wanted to confirm something. Am I right in my thinking that for the most part the Dirt Squirt and the Road Toad are the same thing? As in I can pull parts from a Dirt Squirt for my Road Toad?

Actually, its a good question . . . and it shows that you are paying attention. Yes the Model 01 Dirt Squirt (the painted tank Squirt) shares a rather large number of parts with the two Road Toad models.

Hodakas are somewhat like old Volkswagens in that many parts interchange through the years. Part numbers start with the model they originated. If the part number starts with 90 as in 901507, it started as an Ace 90 part but also works in a model 99 Road Toad. Many Dirt Squirt parts are the same but there is no need to search for Road Toad parts in Dirt Squirt parts lists. Just use the schematics for your model. You will notice that many parts are interchangeable through the years. Hope this helps.

Another thing you can do is download the Hodaka Parts Compatibility file from the Strictly Hodaka Tech Tips which is under the FAQ tab. It is not 100 percent accurate but is pretty close. Just find a part number from the schematic and look down on the Compatibility file until you find it. You will see all the other models that used that part.
