Sorry if I confused anyone on this. My Hodaka purchase consisted of three bike(s)--- the B+ you are talking of Charlie, a B+ frame with no motor and an Ace 90 with motor but little else.Charlie R wrote:Ken,
Help me out a bit. I know I commented on one of the cylinders that was an early 2 bolt SR cylinder that had been finger ported for reeds. However, I went back and looked at the photo of the bike and it appears to be a standard Ace 100 cylinder with a reed valve. Which cylinder are you wanting to run?
PLUS- a large amount of "spare" parts. The cylinder you mention above (SR 2 bolt) is one from the spare parts. In fact everything I've been working on concerning this thread is from the spares as I was hoping to build up the core of an engine from these parts alone.
I'll now remove the engine from the B+ (in the photos) and see exactly what I've got there.
And; what I want to run is whatever is going to work out best for reliability and running down the road at 50-55mph. Hopefully making use of as much of what I already have as possible--- to keep the costs reasonable.
thanks

edit---actually four bikes as I bought the Combat Wombat first from a fellow that had purchased it from the guy who sold me the three Ace's.
Now I'm confused...
