Re: 12v Headlight

Bob
That is what I had planned. A simple system with a 12v regulator. Unfortunately, I sold that bike before I completed the headlight project.

Re: 250 SL holed its piston. What to do?

I only use race gas in my 250. Hodaka recommened premium gas. Not sure what octane premium was back in the mid 70's but it was probably close to 100 octane.

Re: 250 Kickstart installation made easy?

It's been a while since put my kicker on but I don't remember having that much trouble. Pretty sure I didn't take the kick lever off the knuckle. As I recall, it wasn't much different than the procedure for a 100/125.

That is the correct parts. The spacer is item 8 on the parts schematic, part number 938759a.

Re: My first Hodie

The engine number is located on the right center case, just behind the cylinder and clutch actuator arm. History of the the 250 can be found in Ken Smith's Hodaka book. The 250 is my favorite Hodaka "to ride". Good luck with yours.

Re: MWL's Project Super Rat

I attended the Barber Vintage Festival recently and look what I found at the swap meet! I would say it's the ultimate Webco item for an early Super Rat. The 125 top end appears to be new and never run. The guy I bought it from acquired the motor and other parts from someone else. I would be interest...

That is cool. Check out the tool bag and fork gaiters, right out of the 70's. Anybody recognize that front fender?

MWL's Project Super Rat

I thought I would post some progress pic's of my Super Rat since things are a little slow around here and my project is even slower. Seems like I'll never finish this thing.... It's not going to be a perfect restoration by any means, instead I plan to have some period correct aftermarket parts insta...

Re: Webco Head Question

I cc'd the heads and this is what I found. Ace head is 13.5 cc and the webco head is 11.8 cc. I took these values and plugged them in to a two stroke compression ratio program. Results are in "trapped compression". Ace head is 5.22 and webco head is 5.83. While I have no idea how accurate ...

It would be interesting to know what the compression is with the webco head and which piston you are using?

Webco Head Question

002.JPG I plan to use this Webco head on my Super Rat project. The picture shows the Webco head and an Ace head for comparison. I do not have a Super Rat head to compare. I'm assuming the Webco head was designed for a Super Rat based on the reduced volume in the combustion chamber but I really don'...
