Re: John Penton movie

There is a potential showing of the John Penton Story in Kansas City, MO on Sept 18th at the Tivoli Cinema (4050 Pennsylvania, KCMO). Although they need 52 reservations by September 8th for the showing to go ahead, and currently only have 4 reservations (including 2 for me). If anyone wants to see t...

Re: Just bought a reeded Combat Wombat - Have a few question

Thanks Rich, I believe you are correct in stating that the piston in it is a Super Combat piston. Inside the piston there is an "S" and a "4"; I am assuming that the "S" stands for Super Combat, and the "4" stands for 40/1000's over-bore. Is this a correct ass...

Re: Just bought a reeded Combat Wombat - Have a few question

Danny,

I checked out the Power Seal website, and this looks interesting. I am considering sending off the cylinder to them for plating and honing. Are there any Power Seal testimonials, or warnings, out there from the Hodaka community?

Thanks,
James

Re: Just bought a reeded Combat Wombat - Have a few question

Thanks everyone for the feedback on the porting. It is good to hear that the porting done is similar to the original factory Enduro/Cross cylinder porting. Too bad the tunnels are not consistent though; the remaining cylinder wall for one of the tunnels, between the intake port and victory port, is ...

Just bought a reeded Combat Wombat - Have a few questions

Hello, I bought a Combat Wombat over the weekend. It had been sitting for a few years and didn't run, but I had planned on going through the motor anyway so I was not deterred. Someone has installed a reed valve setup on it. I pulled the cylinder jug off to inspect things. It looks pretty rough; the...

Re: 73 Wombat-94a Tire recommendation?

Hello again, There is an article in the Resonator Revisited (Dec 2013) on building an AHRMA Classic Class 125cc enduro, where a Duro HF 335 4.10x18 tire was used for the rear, and a Bridgestone M59 was used for the front. I am currently thinking about getting these tires for my Wombat. Does anyone h...

Re: 73 Wombat-94a Tire recommendation?

Thanks Dale,

I have also been looking at the Shinko SR244's; and the Shinko trials SR241's as well.

Why the 2.75 rather than the 3.00 for the front? Would the smaller 2.75 tire steer better?

Thanks,

73 Wombat-94a Tire recommendation?

Hello All, I am new to the forum. I had a 1974 Dirt Squirt 100 as a kid; I remember it as my most fun to ride motorcycle. I got the urge to buy a Wombat, and just picked up a 1973 Wombat 94a that is in pretty decent shape; minimal rust; has been stored inside for most of its life. I even got it to f...
