Re: Kick Start rubber
I take mine and soak them in warm water (almost hot!) for a couple of minutes. Make sure you start it on while it’s still very warm and use the larger hole (it’s larger at one end than at the other). Good luck. If you get them from Terry and they are hard, he may replace it for you. Bictor

Thank you Dale! Got it figured out! A couple of photos of the air box helped figure it out, along with discussions on the FB group!

98 Super Rat Question…
How does one attach the side number plates to the air box in a 98 Suoer Rat? That is, into which part(s) do the bolts which hold the plates on screw? I looked at the microfiche but the air bid is shown separately. A little help please. Thx! Victor

Re: 94 Wombat Flamethrower Pipe…
Actually, the stock pilot jet works fine at 7,000 feet. The only thing which doesn’t is the 160 main. I have to drop to the 140 main for it to run well at this elevation. The no start problem turned out to be a clogged spark arrester. Burning it clean with a propane torch took care of the issues! Sh...

94 Wombat Flamethrower Pipe…
I have this 94 Wombat I restored a while back with the exhaust being a 94 flamethrower pipe. Am I correct in my believe there are no baffles in the pipe, just the spark arrester assembly which goes in the tail end of the pipe? That’s been my assumption. I BBQ’d the pipe when I first bought/rebuilt t...

Re: Gas tank
I’m not sure where you live. I use a chromer in El Paso, Tx. They did a tank for me for $345 even with a couple of small dents which he removed. You must ask for street chrome to get this price. Street Chrome, at this shop is just copper followed by chrome, like Hodaka used to do. Custom chrome is $...

Re: 96 Dirt Squirt engine questions
The 96 Squirts uses a Wombat bottom end with an Ace crank, flywheel, cylinder, piston & head. So you could use the Wombat gears if you want it to be correct. Also a Wombat kick lever because it sits in a Wombat frame with an E frame number. Same frame as the 94/95 and it also uses the same 2 gal...

Re: New members Road Toad in Central Texas
I’ve restored 2 Modrl 99 Toads so far. I have another in waiting. They are fun bikes and the reed valve gives them plenty of zip! I think you’ll enjoy it! My grandson wanted green, but my nephew wanted the red! I call that one the Red Toad. Victor

Re: Combat wombat muffler
Depends on which generation. The Combat Wombat has a flamethrower pipe on the 1st gen bikes, Jan-March or maybe early April. If it has shouldered rims AKA mud catchers. It should get a flamethrower pipe. If it has shoulderless rims, then it should get the later pipe. First gen early mods also get gr...

A 98 Super Rat (no motor, yet) ended up in my driveway. It’s all there except the motor& number plates & levers & perches. I have the latter. Can order number plates. Posted on the FB Hodaka pages for a rebuildable 98 motor. If anyone here has one they can part with, please let me know. ...

My best understanding is the number of 175’s made was 603. 600 were sold in the US & the other 3 went to Spain. Victor
