Re: Need help starting after rebuild
Yes. It should pop with fuel in the cylinder unless the timing is advanced too far. Try setting it between the two marks. See if you get a pop or two there! And did you check the woodruff key on the crank? ; D Victor

I still bet you surprised the Heck out of those bigger bikes! That little ole 100 screaming by them surely must have given them pause to wonder the the Heck was going on!!! Nicely Done!!! ; D Victor

Re: Need help starting after rebuild
I think the 40:1 mc may be a bit weak but it should still start with that mix. I mix 32/1 for my 125. If you set the points to start opening at the left mark you may have the timing advanced too far. I would set it to open about 1/3 the way to the right of the left mark and try it again. Also pull t...

Here's a link to a Kenda dual sport rear tire at Motorcycle-Superstore for a 3.50 18 size. I wouldn't have an issue running this tire. And not bad for $41.00. ; D Victor

Re: will it fit?
I have an 18" rear wheel on my Model 03. I believe they are the same size frame. I got Kenda enduro tires in the 3.50-18 size, model 56P, and they fit well. Don't know which style tire you're wanting but I suspect the 3.50 knobby would fit jus as well. Plent of room between the side of the tire...

Re: Mini Bike Forum?
Turns out there's a special tool (why wouldn't there be?) for removing this stupid combination gear/nut. The only availability of it is to buy a replacement gear and the tool from Morini Franco for a cost of $59.99! So I'm taking the new clutch and the bike to the local KTM dealer and having them pu...

Re: Spark help
Also be sure to check the condition of your woodruff key for the magneto/flywheel. It's located on the crankshaft and holds the magneto in place. Mine wore down so badly I couldn't time the bike correctly until I replaced it. It's worth checking. If it rusted it may brake or already have broken. Jus...

Re: Mini Bike Forum?
Well no luck there..... I'm going to see about getting the local KTM shop to help with pulling. Seems a special tool is needed to pull the combination start gear clutch nut! Or maybe my son In law can get it loose with an impact wrench. Waiting for the new centrifugal clutch to arrive in the mail. ;...

You can get a seat cover from Paul at the home page. Just look up the bike and then look at the schematics for the part number! Sounds like it's coming along nicely! ; D Victor

Mini Bike Forum?
Someone posted a while back that there was a mini bike forum. Can someone give me the link? I have a KTM 50 for which I need shop manual info. It has a Morini Franco S5 motor with a centifugal clutch I need to change out. Found the clutch. Looks like there's a special tool to pull the starter gear w...

Re: NEW
Greg. I had read about this a long time ago but never tried it till recently. I got a rear rack & tool box from Danny and gave it a whirl. I was amazed at how well it worked! Here's an after photo of the tool box. It was so rusted it didn't look like chrome any longer. Of course, now you can see...

Re: NEW
Hi! One of the things I have found to do with rusty chrome is to clean it with aluminum foil and water! It really works! Take some aluminum foil, say a 1 foot long sheet and fold it in half repeatedly until you have about a 4x6" rectangle. Crinkling it a bit as you fold it is good. Wet both the...

Re: front brake adjustment 94A Wombat
I'd also avoid using steel wool on your brake pads. They can smooth your pads and leave a more slippery surface to brake against. I'd ruff them up again with sand paper before using again no matter what else you do. ; D Victor

Grip Glue Solvent?
Does anyone know what will remove grip glue from painted surfaces? I put new grips on the bike. The grip glue came out of the grip and dropped on my new paint, awhile after I walked away. Want something that will dissolve the glue but won't dissolve the clear coat on my tank! Thanks in advance! ; D ...

Re: Box Of Parts Came In The Mail!
They already are cleaning up nicely! I sent you images of the rack and tool box on the phone today. I also figured out how to mount the indicator lights on the speedo mount plate. I'm assuming the speedo mounting plate is held on by the handlebar riser clamp bolts? That's what looks like makes sense...

Does anyone have an electronic copy, easy to read and print, of the Model 03 wiring diagram? I have one for the Model 94/95 but not the Model 03. I need it in order to connect everything up on the wiring harness I got from Danny! I think I figured out which end is which, but I really need the diagra...

If you have an internal baffle which can be wrapped, you might try something I have used in the past. Wood stove door gasket. You can get it in any length, cut to your measurement(or estimate) and wrap it around the outside of the baffle. Used it on my street bike, a Susuki VL1500 with Vance & H...

Re: Hit the Dirt!
Greg. My Kawasaki F6 weighed over 220 lbs and it was a narrow, long stroke piston. It put out power but handled like crap! The comparable Yamaha and Suzuki models were quicker and handled much better. But I bought it so I rode it. Speed is something that comes with experience. Experience with the bi...
