Re: Running 03

Yes it’s running. I primed the oil lines with a syringe. Still getting a few air bubbles but not sure if it’s because the oil tank doesn’t have a lot in it or not. The oil does appear to be pumping to the engine. Both outgoing lines are showing oil movement. :ugeek: Victor

Re: Running 03

That’s what I’ve been doing. I also took a section of coat hangar wire and made a long T handle which I can poke down into the lines & break up the air bubbles. I’m using a 3mm syringe to push oil into the lines & fill them. Works well as long as you leave room for sure to escape! :ugeek: Vi...

Running 03

Well today she started! Still dealing with a bubble in the oil line on the intake side between the tank & pump. I fired her up with a 32:1 premix in the tank! The pump pushed all the oil in the lines going from pump to carb and left crank bearing. But the air bubble seems to have stopped the flo...

Re: ‘71 B+ resurrection……First post newbie!!

Ahhh….oil discussions. Funny thing…. Had a discussion with Lee Fabry a while back. He said “Think about the motor oils which were available in the mid ‘60s-70s. Straight 30w oil was what was mostly available & used. The bikes were designed to run on that kind of motor oil. Today, the closest thi...

Re: Corroded 94 Crankcase

I would think that any case sealant would take care of the mating edges. As long as the crank surface is clean, I think you’d be OK. But as Dale & Ed said, cases should still be easy to find. :ugeek: Victor

Priming Oil Pump Lines

OK Hodaka folk. What is the trick to priming the oil pump lines on an 03 Wombat? I have all the lines connected, throttle cable for the pump is connected and actuating, and I have oil in the tank. However, I can not get oil to flow from the tank to the oil pump. Even the oil line from the tank to th...

Not a clear photo, but, could it be the top cap to the choke plunger? See the attached picture. It fits on top of the plunger #32. Just a guess. Hard to tell from pic. :ugeek: Victor

Re: My Hodaka

Great pics! Yes if you leave them together they multiply in the darkness! LOL. I picked up an Ace B Monday. It was missing the motor and the wheels. But I only paid $200 for it. When I got it home and tried to put a front wheel on it to make it easier to move around, I discovered it had a Yamaha fro...

I like the way you include a partial motor just for the sake of filling the space a bit. She’s starting to look a little more like a bike! Did I see you adding red paint to the tank as well over on FB? :ugeek: Victor

Make sure you get the width dimensions correct when buying fork boots. I tried several sizes and even getting the springs lubed and trying to “screw them into the springs, I had a very hard time time yung to get boots which fit. Maybe get a hold of Lee Fabry and ask him where he buys his to get a go...
