Re: Zinc phosphate plating
Man, I remember when I was putting my Super Rat back together I didn't care about anything else but working on my bike. It is exciting getting her back together. Mine sat in my garage from1981 until 2009 before I started the restoration. I can't wait to start my Road Toad. Keep posting pics of your ...

Re: Zinc phosphate plating
Your pipe looks like it's in excellent condition. Does this bike have low hours on it? Usually these down swept pipes are beat up or rusted beyond repair.

Re: Zinc phosphate plating
I had it all done at "Synergy" in Titusville, Florida. The were very reasonable and did excellent job. I will have them do my Road Toad next. Good luck with your project. You will have to pics. I spent about 9 years off and on before I finally finished my Super Rat.

Re: My Hodaka Dirt Squirt
That picture is the only one of me on my Super Rat. Fortunately, I still have it and I restored it. It is my pride and joy. I will never part with it. I have had it since it was new in 1975. I'm a sentimental fool.

Man I wished that lived out west. You guys always have Hodakas available to buy and for good prices. Here in Florida there is never anything, and on the rare chance that there is, they want a fortune. I always browse the internet but all the deals are always out west. You guys got it made.

Re: Hodakas at Mecum Auction
You would probably come out cheaper buying one of these bikes already restored. I spent a small fortune restoring my Super Rat. Then again, it was worth every penny that I spent. I am happiest when I am working on my motorcycles.

Re: Chain - .420 vs .428?
Matt, I should have stated my question better. I use o-ring chains on my street bikes and I am a huge fan. I love the fact that they do not sling grease all over the place and they last a lot longer. However, I have never put one on any of my dirt bikes. I was wondering if there are any issues with ...

I was considering replacing my old chain on my Road Toad as well. I am thinking about ordering an "o-ring" chain instead. Do any of y'all run this type of chain? Linc

Re: Passing it on
Wow, that looks like an amazing place to ride. The scenery is awesome. I do plan to come to Hodaka Days soon, but it is a long way from Florida. Both grandkids ride now so I am sure they would love it there. Is it tame enough for a 10 year old to ride?

Passing it on
I taught my 10 year old granddaughter to ride on my Road Toad. How many kids nowadays can say that they learned to ride on a Hodaka? She took right to it. She now calls the Road Toad "hers" and it certainly will be someday. She gets better each time she rides. Linc

Just wanted remind everyone that tonight at eight o'clock eastern time Travis Pastrana will try to jump Ceasars palace and will attempt two other jumps if he is successful. He is trying to break three of Evel's records. He will attempt all of this on an Indian motorcycle that is set up similar to th...

Re: Hate to be a downer
Givergas, first off, I am jealous that you grew up riding in California. I worked in California three or four months out of the year for twenty years in Lancaster and I dreamed of riding there but never had the opportunity. As far as riding in a designated area such as a Nation Forest , that is a tw...

Re: Hate to be a downer
Yeah , it sucks living in an area where you can't even enjoy your dirt bikes. When my two girls still lived at home we always had four wheelers for them to ride, then it got to the point that every time we fired them up someone called the cops.I finally got rid of them, now there is no place to ride...
