Re: Noob question: 125 motor in a 100B+ frame?
I really liked my 100B+ and appreciated it's short wheelbase. MY woods riding here in NW Fl is usually on tight trails and old jeep-only roads so the average speed is usually quite low but I would appreciate a little more hp when I get in some loose sand.

Thanks for the info. I'd forgotten how heavy that footpeg mount probably is.

Re: Lighten a Hodaka
Didn't there used to be something called a "battery eliminator" that allowed you to remove the battery without blowing out your lights due to unregulated voltage?

Lighten a Hodaka
A stock 100B+ weighs about a 185 lbs. How much can you lighten it by switching to a plastic tank and fenders, removing the battery box, etc. and still end up with a reliable street legal bike? I'm sure lots of folks have done this but I can't find anything by searching the forum.

Noob question: 125 motor in a 100B+ frame?
Many yrs ago I had a 100B+ that I dearly loved. Many more powerful dirt bikes have come and gone since then. Now I'm in the market for another Hodaka. A street legal Wombat would be nice but how about a B+ frame with a 125 motor? Is that an easy swap?

No response from Terry so I guess he's not in the complete bike business.

Re: Source for complete bike?
I've bookmarked Hodaka-Parts. Is that really the only game in town? There used to be ads on this forum and the old Yahoo groups discussion group.

Source for complete bike?
My first new motorcycle was a 100B+ that I bought when I was stationed in Canada in the early 70s. I had it for nearly 30 yrs until I let it go to support a Bultaco project. Big mistake! Now in my golden years I need another Hodaka to revisit my misspent youth. I've done the usual searches without s...

Re: Big Bend Hodaka Footage
Beautiful country, reminds me a little of the desert around Las Vegas. I'm always glad to see someone riding dirt bikes in jeans instead of being dressed up like a power ranger wannabe.

I'm not sure I know what a shorty silencer is. Are we talking about one of those shorty baffles that actually fit inside the original muffler?

Re: 100B+ make it quieter?
I don't have the bike in my possession yet--waiting for a little warmer weather to take possession. It looks like a stock 100B+ with the oem spark arrestor from an outside visual inspection. Can these mufflers be repacked? With what?

100B+ make it quieter?
I'm in the process of buying a rebuilt 100B+ after being out of the Hodaka world for some time. The bike seems louder than I remember. It has a stock pipe with spark arrestor. Is there anything extra I can do to quiet the exhaust down a little so I don't upset my neighbors? Remove the arrestor and i...

Thanks, that was exactly what I have been looking for. Do you also have the dry weights? As soon as I find a bike I'll definitely get the appropriate owners manual and shop manual.

Re: Source for Hodaka specs
I was looking for the wheelbase, dry weight , ground clearance and overall length. I'm trying to decide whether I want a Wombat or 100B+. I assume the 100B and B+ are virtually identical.

Re: Source for Hodaka specs
How about just the specs for a 100B+ and a chrome tank Wombat? Alternatively, anyone have a copy of the road tests for these two bikes from "back in the day"?

Source for Hodaka specs
I've been out of the Hodaka world for awhile but I think I'm getting the "fever" again. Anyone know an online source for Hodaka specs (tire size, wheelbase weight, etc.) so I can decide what model I should be pursuing. I bought a new 100B+ many years ago and kept it for nearly 30yrs ago be...
