Re: Jetting
I want to thank you guys for the responses. After removing the pipe I found out that it wasn't the one that I had already burnt out. Put the burnt out one on and it runs fine.

Jetting
I am having a problem jetting my 100cc Dirt Squirt. I have the '76 aluminum cylinder engine. It is jetted according to the parts book but cannot get it to rev much past an idle. Opening up the throttle causes it to bog down and will die if held there. If I let it back down to an idle it will run all...

I am wondering what the difference is between the Aluminum and the painted Road Toad cylinders is. They have the same size carb. but they have different jetting. The cylinder and head on the models have different part numbers also. Do they have different porting specs.?

26mm Mukini carb.
I am trying to find out about a spigot mount 26mm. The 26mm for the Road Toad is a bottom float bowl drain carb., this one has a side float bowl drain with the main jet in it.This is like the 28-34 carbs. I cannot find anything about this carb. I have one, so at one point they were made just don't k...

Re: olod road toad cylinder
Hello Thrownchain I bought the Van-Tec front end from you. If you have an aluminum red or colored tank 100cc cylinder and look at the bottom you will see the about 1/8th" hole and there is a hole in the engine to match as ell as the gasket. The Ace 100's do not have the hole not the cases eithe...

Just a question about the cylinder. What is the hole in the intake and the case for? I mam using the 100B+ cases.
In the old days putting a reed valve on an Ace 100 there was no mention of putting hole in these locations.

Re: Hodaka pistons
Back in the day before reed valves were commonly used I got one from Webco and installed it on my 90. I just marked the width of the intake size in the cylinder and drilled 4 1/2" holes in the piston. Worked really well as it would stay up with the 100's. I also went to a 20mm carb.

Re: Ace B+ vs Road Toad
I am building an Ace 100. I have installer the aluminum cylinder , head, reed valve carb. and air cleaner off the 02 toad toad. I am using the non oil injected bottom end as I don't care for the oil injection. Haven't started the motor yet but will this month.

Re: steen steering head bearings
Hello again, Kaman Bearing here had to order the bearing which they did willingly. I do not know why they did offer this to you? They did the same for all the wheel bearings too. If you have the old bearings use that number, but see if they can get doubles shielded. Good luck.

Re: steen steering head bearings
I rebuild a Steen last year and found that most bolts and nuts are American as well as most pares except for the engine which is all Hodaka.I got all of the bearing from a local bearing Co.(Kaman) they in turn got the steering head bearing # SFB AF 3240 unground flanged radial ball bearing at a cost...

Re: shifter
I figured out the problem. The cases that I have say HODAKA on them and the shift lever is located on the left side not the right side so the ones I have are different than the x-ray picture. Thank you for your reply's. The book I have shows the x-ray picture not the case that I have.

I have brain fade. Took the shifter apart on my Ace 100 to put bushings in cover. Now I cannot remember how to put it back together. The pictures in the Manuel don't help. If I line up the detentes, then the shifter lever doesn't line up with cam and the detentes are on the wrong side. If you look i...

Re: Parts for Hodaka from Webco
Back in the 70's when I rode a Hodaka I had a 100cc Webco alloy cylinder but not the head. I didn't like the was the motor ran. I had been using the Webco reed valve on my motors and tried it on the Webco cylinder just could not get it to run clean, but it didn't get hot.

Re: Model 93 Super Rat Stories
Interesting reading. I have a post on a Steen for sale. It has the leading link front end. Back around 1974 or 75 I had a 90cc Hodaka that I put the leading link front end on. I motor crossed, trial and trial rode it. I liked the fact that it did roll over curbs with out the jump as with regular for...

Thank you for the reply.
Just building one for everyday use so will keep the bushings as it seems that the needle bearings aren't very reliable, maybe because of size or manufacture?

Sounds like the bushing is the better of the two? Thought that bearings were better than a bushing because of friction?

Thanks for the reply. It was just a thought as I was looking at the 100 motor and a 100 road toad and noticed the needle bearing main shaft.I'm putting a modified cylinder (porting looks to be the same as in hop up for the 100) and thought that the needle bearings would be the way to go? I could use...
