Re: Used, Functional 250ED Tank???

You might have to get a Clarke replica tank. I see them on occasion on eBay but they’re usually close to the price of a brand new Clarke

Thanks for that info RR. I have a couple of magazine articles that covered that race but none of them mention results out of the top ten. Would have been fun to attend that race...lots of early talent was there

Re: Exhaust Pipe

“Give me some feedback. What are you looking for.”

Rich Gagnon recommends the HT3 over the HT2 but I think if it’s limited to 25 pipes they’ll fly off the shelves. Would that be 25 of each? First choice would be the HT3 but without the option of HT3, I would get the HT2.

I think the best way to get one of the pipes will be if HPI has a “buy in” . Hopefully that will happen sometime soon

Re: Hot tip:CW pipe clamp

I have an Ace 90 that has a rubber connector between the header and the muffler which must get hotter than the end of the CW pipe. The Ace part doesn't seem to ever fail , but I won't be able to tell on the CW until I can take it on a long outing

Hot tip:CW pipe clamp

Cheap and easy replacement for the Combat Wombat rear pipe clamp IMG_0265-2.jpg You need to purchase this electrical pipe clamp( Caddy 454007 Cushioned 1 1/4" pipe clamp) I found mine on ebay IMG_0267.jpg It has a 3/8 x 16 thread so I bought a 3/8 stainless steel bolt to thread into the clamp I...

Re: .080 overbore

Thank you all for the great info and thank you Gary, I see what your talking about on the cases. For .080 over it looks like half a millimeter has to be removed. I suppose this is why you want the Hodaka specialists working on your engine and not the local machinist . My machinist is a craftsman but...

Re: .080 overbore

Well hopefully , I can make a Combat Wombat piston work. I ordered one from you, Paul ,last week(I must have gotten the last one?) so it should show up soon. I wasen't aware that the cases had to be relieved. What exactly do I need to do to relieve them and how much material gets removed if any ?

Re: .080 overbore

Well , I can get the oversized piston and ring for a Combat Wombat (wise one) and drill holes in it, and , the machinist said I'll have to throw away the cylinder unless I bore it as big as it will go due to rust pits that are too deep. He doesn't think he can sleeve it because of the cast in ports....

Can a Super Combat be safely over bored 8th over or will the cylinder skirt become too thin ?
I know a combat wombat can but the SC is a higher performance engine and I'm not sure if that might make a difference

Re: Std. jetting for Super Combat

Thank you Rich.
Getting down to the last details of resurrecting a rust bucket Super Combat that had the wrong carburetor on it and no base gasket or sealant . Boring the cylinder and jetting the oem carb are the last 2 things to go and then I'm on the trail !!

Std. jetting for Super Combat

I've seen several options for jetting on the Super Combat but I'm not sure which one to use The choices are R9 nozzle or Q6 nozzle, and the needle is either 6L1 or 6F9. Which is the proper one for a stock Super Combat :?:
