Good to hear you got that flywheel off. You are on the right track replacing bearings and seals. The 250 is my favorite Hodaka.

Re: 250ED stator plate water damage

This is what mine looked like. The bike had been sitting outside when I bought it so I assumed that was how the water got in it. I was never able to get the flywheel off that motor. I found another motor in very good condition to use. As for the ignition, I bought a PVL ignition for it and never loo...

Re: The 2 the Max Project

You may have already covered this but I guess you're not planning on kick starting with the rear set in the way? Maybe one of those roller starters or just bump starting? An easy solution for the rear brake would be to use the cable set-up and run up to an extra lever on the clutch side. Could be a ...

Re: Forum Changes Explained!

Would it be possible to have a link to Hodaka Classifieds from here. It would increase the traffic there and would be a great resource for buying and selling parts.

Re: The 4th Hodaka - 2nd Road Toad!

I use the petcock on the left side only and plug the other side. Run a single gas line to the carb. Plenty of room for an inline filter.

Re: Crank Bearing Preload

I put new crank bearings in an 03 125 and noticed a noise when the clutch was pulled in. It wasn't bad, just sort of a whirling sound and I wrote it off as typical clutch noise. As I rode a few Ahrma CC events, the noise increased to a point where it was making a squealing sound when the clutch was ...

A word of caution. Don't get too impatient forcing the cylinder out of the cases. Make sure the cylinder comes straight out of the cases. The skirts on the cylinder are pretty fragile. Don't ask......

I believe the bushing you're referring to is a wire grommet for the holes in the back of the headlight bucket. Nothing goes between the headlight bucket and mounting ear.

Be sure to use the strongest graded bolts you can find for the flywheel. Standard bolts will stretch. I had the same problem with a 250. Never got the flywheel off. Good luck!

Re: Offroad boots

Off-road boots are made to protect your feet while riding. They are not really made for walking. I have AlpineStar Tech 7's and have no problem riding in them. If you need a little movement at your ankle, leave the top of the boot a little loose on you calf.
