Can someone explain the science behind having to run coils or blanks for a bike that would only be ridden on dirt? Or why can’t I just remove the lighting coils? What harm would it cause to the engine?
Thanks, Dave

Re: wanted wiseco piston rings
Total Seal piston ring company will make you any ring you want, I had a couple sets made a couple years ago for a vintage snowmobile, that also had a wiseco pistons, very reasonable price.

Rich, tell us more about the TIT, it improves low and midrange? Where on the stinger should it be located? Same size od/id as the stinger? How long should it be?

Paul, don't let a few bad apples spoil your work, you've done a great job! I was in retail for 40 years, there was always a small percentage of customers we could never make happy. Keep up the great work.

I run my Diagatron EGT/Tach on my 125, you run it off the lighting coils if you didn't know, works fine.

Ok, what brand/part # for the 2 stage reeds, and what was the difference at WOT? Did either increase torque figures, and at what RPM?

How will the piston last longer? The Yamaha piston? And how will the engine remove heat more efficiently?

Re: Points cracked
I'm sure I got them from Paul or hodaka-parts, these are pretty high mileage, over 1000, in my almost daily rider. Found them while using a timing light to set timing, there was a spark coming from where the crack is.

Found this issue when replacing my condenser, a crack. Near the rub pad on the points, look close at end of screw driver, anybody ever seen this?

I use VHT high temp clear coat after blasting, it has to be cure with heat, old toaster oven works great. Hold up great once cured.

15/36 should be close, what mods have been done to engine, carb size etc? I'm running a 14/36 on my Super Combat cylindered 94 lower end with good results.

Re: Tired Combat Wombat
On the Klemmvintage web site there is an article about detonation, and a link to a discussion about gasoline, including AV gas. I've been running 93 octane non ethanol, with a 25 % AV gas in my Super Combat street bike 165 lbs cranking pressure, with torque grooves in head, also in my 03 KTM 200 2 s...

Re: Broken Petcock
Same thing happened to me, I drilled out the threaded and the body peices and tapped to 1/4 20 thread, center drilled a piece of threaded rod and screwed the two peices together, using locktite. Still holding, no leaks, don't over tighten.

Super combat pistons
I'm sure I read in an earlier post that Super Combat pistons had thicker piston skirts, my question is about weight. Would more performance be available from using a standard 125 piston, modifying the piston for reed valve/victory port for a decrease in piston weight?

What are the differences between clutch springs, such as Ace 100 to a 94 Wombat? Going through some spares and I found some large diameter springs, never seen these before.

So racerclam are you saying that you hand ground the 03 receiver to fit a 100/125 shaft? Just total out side diameter and the groove where the balls ride?
