October 17 - Resonator Revisited Material!

Hodaka Folk: Leaves are turning, fall is coming, and it is time to assemble the next Resonator Revisited. I need to ask for material by October 17th. Time to share your summer triumphs (Hodakas, actually), technical or humorous (pratfalls & endos), proud or serious (local/regional/national champ...

Re: Road Toad spark mysteriously disappears

I've mentioned this before, but these things get lost in our haze of questions & comments: The following is a great source for correct re-wiring materials (and a great tool, too) for our old machines:

Sounds like a very appropriate celebration of Whitey's life, Jay. What a great guy.

Folding tip should be available from major wholesalers like Western Power Sports or Parts Unlimited.

A quick look found M3 & M5, plus a bunch of 'Merican sizes. Cool item, someone should buy a batch & sell them off in small quantities (Paul? Bill?)

Re: Project Dirt Squirt

Yep, DSs had lighting coils as std equipment (later 01 Dirt Squirts too). Check Paul's schematics here on the web site. I dunno about batteries, and yes, some sort of regulator would seem necessary, or you'd blow bulbs... Anyone have a 96 wiring diagram to study?

Y'all should consider Trials boots; way more flexible and comfortable (sensitive, too) than MX boots. Also, smooth bottoms which don't load up with mud, yet give r4easonable t5raction.

Remember the era... and the fact that the Captain was not so long before (released? ejected? rescued?) from that cesspool of radical 60's behavior, Oregon State University (U.C. Davis Norte'). Oh, and the classic "family transporter" he hauled his bride and infant heir about during that ti...

Jack-
Yes, std Wombat screen is fine. Filter is #33602 on Paul's schematics, NU 5006 on Uni's site..

Re: What frame to use?

I use an 03 foam (Uni/Paul) which has a foam cap, combined with generous drilling of the metal inner cover and doubling or enlarging the hole in the metal outer cover. You then need to construct an enlarged rubber "neck to match & draw air from under the seat.

Re: Resonator newsletter article index

Bill- Yep, such an index has been a goal for some time. Kelly kinda got the ball rolling with his efforts, but no one has been able to devote the time and effort to develop one. Bill Chapman undertook a similar task, with his parts list He might be a good resource as to the best way to proceed. Plea...

Max-
Great find! Wish I'd known about it when I was In OK last year. Any chance you could do an article on it for the Resonator? It really should be shared with our larger group, so folks know it is there and can visit.

AZ is correct; we don't compete with the Forum's sponsor. There is still a (remnant) Hodaka chat group on Yahoo, or you might consider Mike's Swap meet for parts.

Oops... Actually, George is not "dissembling" at all (dissembling - conceal one's true motives, feelings, or beliefs.
"an honest, sincere person with no need to dissemble")
He's disassembling the thing!

Help Needed for Hodaka Days Raffle Motor

Thanks to donations from Strictly Hodaka, Diamond Eye Performance and George Cone, the Hodaka Club will be offering a new, model 03 Wombat 125cc motor as the grand prize in our annual charity raffle to benefit the Athena Gem Theater (and Hodaka Museum!) project. This primary kick, reed valved, engin...

I too enjoyed the improved site, until recently. How about Greg & Kels locate a private site where they can pontificate... and insult without limitation, and the rest of us can go back to - succinctly - posing and solving issues with Hodakas?
