Re: Is this exhaust baffle correct?

Yeap, same baffle in my 94. I also thought it curious that it said Ace100. But I think that is just the USFS Model identifier. I have one for a 94 and an Ace 100 B+. They have different part numbers although both fit nicely. The Spark Arrestor from the Ace 100 B+ is slightly rotated so that the stam...

Re: Dirt Squirt (96) compatibility

Does that include the 94a wombat also??? Yes. 94, 94A, 95, and 96 all used the same frame. All use the same seat. Also, any chrome tank will fit perfectly, even the large small mouth tanks. However, the correct tank for the 94 and 94A is the large, large mount tank and the correct tank for the 95 a...

Re: The 4th Hodaka - 2nd Road Toad!

Wet sand the damaged areas with 400 - 600 grit wet/dry paper until it is feathered. Use a medium stiff sponge for backing and make sure the feathering is about 1/2" - 3/4" around all damaged areas. Stop sanding if you break through to the bare metal and apply a thin primer/filler to the ar...

Re: Thank You Bruce!!!

If you have one from another bike I think you could fabricate another rather easily. Might be considerably cheaper too and I wouldn't think it would be a critical part for a resto if you're cutting and grinding skills are relatively decent.

Re: Upper engine brace

Contrary to what it appears others are saying. I installed this brace on my (94) Wombat and it makes a world of difference in managing the engine vibrations. Engine vibrations without it aren't unreasonable, but there is a marked difference after install.

Re: Re grounding after powder Coating?

If memory serves, the primary ground is the blue wire in the Stator. Two blue wires should be coming from the Stator, one to the coil and the other to the key switch. This means you will want a good connection between engine case and frame and key switch body to frame. This is how the VR is able to ...

Re: '72 Wombat (94) Stopped on me twice

On a (94) Wombat, the stop light, speedo light, and horn run off the battery regardless of key position, (other than "Off"). Everything else, (headlight and charging circuit) runs directly off the Magneto. Which means the engine must be running to work. The headlight circuit is activated i...

Wow... I had to look up a Harley "Hummer" to truly appreciate what Kels said. Admittedly, I was a bit perplexed by his math too. But after looking it up, now I understand. Small 2-stroke engine, very heavy bike.

Re: New Hodaka owner and question.

The orange and red wires go to the flasher. The red wire is carrying the source voltage, via the flasher switch, to the orange wire, which in turn goes to the Turn Signal switch. The flasher fits in a rubber holder that attaches to a tab located on the side of the battery box, (right side I believe)...

I have a couple seats that will work. Seat foam is usable with some filler/repair.

One has a large lip in the rear, and the other has a shorter lip. I'm not sure which belongs to a Road Toad. Are you going to HD16?

I have a battery bracket that had the Current Limiter mounts on it and used those. If your battery bracket has those mounts I would suggest using them also. Simply use a piece of small gauge angled steel, (you can easily make one), and attach the VR to it so that when attached, it tucks in right und...

Re: Ace or Super Rat? Tank on eBay

Your best chance at identifying a narrow tank from a photo is by looking at the underside and it's lengthwise profile. But I will say that unless you can actually go "hands on" with both and do a side by side comparison, it is difficult to see the difference in photos. I drew a picture of ...
