Re: Steering Stem Ball Bearings model 98

It is turned 90 degrees on both my Windows 10 computer and my Samsung Android phone. It straightens up when I click on the picture on my phone but stays sideways on my computer when I click on it. When I save it to my computer and open it up in Microsoft Picture Manager it is still sideways. I can t...

Re: Steering Stem Ball Bearings model 98

Now I see why some of the posted pictures are upside down. You guys are coping directly from your phone. Maybe I am just old school (using a computer instead of a phone) but thing would be easier if you would pick a folder on your computer to save your pictures from your phone, then you could add th...

Re: Ace exhaust nut securing?

I was racing every weekend back then so I pulled the cylinder often and the fins are fairly easy to drill with the cylinder upside down and I never had one pull through. The later aluminum cylinders had springs attached to holes in the fins and they do wear through occasionally.

Re: Ace exhaust nut securing?

I used to drill a hole in the exhaust nut an one in a fin on the cylinder and wire them together.

Re: Resonator Volume 2 Issue 23 comments

Ok gang. Time is running out for Gregg's contest and no one has even guessed. So I am going to guess that Version 1's all were formatted in 2 columns and Version 2's were formatted in 1 column or full page.

Re: Resonator Volume 2 Issue 23 comments

Maxie (and other club members), the color of the text on the club web page for the list of previous Resonators has been updated to bright orange. I think that will match the gray background so you can see it. Also the Index page has been updated to show tech items in the latest releases.

A 19" on the rear sounds a little as strange. Are you sure it is not an 18"?

Re: Resonator Volume 2 Issue 23 comments

OK, Now that contest is over lets get back to Gregg's contest. Why did he change from Volume 1 (V1) to V2 in 2011? I think I have figured it out, but as I am the Membership person for the Board I will wait until Wednesday next week to put in my answer to give others a chance at the prizes.

Re: The 4th Hodaka - 2nd Road Toad!

Back in the day I had 2 boring machines and I am just wondering what they are doing to the cylinder that would not cool down in an hour.

Gregg, Maxie is talking about the color of the Web page and not the Resonator its self. Gary can fix that. Let's get back to Gregg's contest.

Yes, V1 V2 and V3 as in Volume 1, 2, or 3. V2 started in the middle of 2011 so it don't seem to have anything to do with the year.

Re: Resonator Volume 2 Issue 23 comments

While we are still in this Resonator subject there is a question I have been wondering about for at least 2 years. This may be a question for Bob or Gregg. What caused the jump from Version 1 to Version 2 in June of 2011? There were 13 Version 1's and we are up to 23 Versions 2's. Am I the only one ...

Richard, Gregg Floren emailed the new Resonator to all club members on the 10th. If you didn't get yours just login to the club website and download the latest issue.

Re: The 4th Hodaka - 2nd Road Toad!

Sorry about the picture but I thought it may be visible that the old looking seat on the left had longer back brackets and a deeper fender well than the restored one the right. The one with the long tabs is part number #979022 for models 01, 02, 03, 97, 98 and 99. The one with the shorter tabs is pa...

Re: The 4th Hodaka - 2nd Road Toad!

Victor, there is a difference in the seats. Some have longer back tabs and deeper indentation for the fender but I can't remember which is which.
Here is a picture of both. Maybe I can go to the shop and figure it out unless someone else wants to chime in.

Kelly Mckeirnan compiled the Resonator Index and it is now posted to the website as described above for members when they are signed in. It shows technical articles in each Resonator issue. Now we just have to keep it updated as new issues come out. We also need to send an email to all members that ...

Appears Strictly Hodaka has the cables in gray or black and they have the spring you need with the assembly.

Re: Project Dirt Squirt

As mentioned earlier, you may have a lighting kit that Hodaka sold and it did not come with a speedometer, therefore the short brackets. I don't have a solution for the rear fender.
