Re: Combat project
I picked up some “8”plugs. I’ll try them. I’m going to put some heavier oil in the forks before I make any other internal changes.
Thanks

Re: Combat project
Getting close to being finished. Need to work out a few things. 1. Fouling plugs regularly. Running B9HS plugs. 32:1 fuel mixture. Stock jetting. I’m considering going to hotter plug. Yes or no?? 2. Forks clunk hard at full extension. I added extra oz. of fork oil. So now at 6oz. Of 15WT. Still clun...

Re: Rear spokes puzzler for Combat
Victor, I received the spoke. Unfortunately the diameter is different. My spokes are 3.10mm, the spoke you sent me is 3.45.
Thank you for trying to hook me up. I’m just gonna run what I got.
Thanks, Brian

Re: Rear spokes puzzler for Combat
I can not run that short spoke thru the hub. It acts like the hub is too thick and it won’t make the bend. What I did was try an inside spoke with a angled bend. Like roughly a 45 degree bend. I was able to fish it thru hub and get nipple on. But there is no gap by hub like it supposed to. It lays o...

Rear spokes puzzler for Combat
I had 1 broken spoke. It’s an outside spoke with a 90 degree bend. A friend sent me combat spokes. They didn’t work. Terry sent me one and they were the same. The rusty spoke in pic is the one I need. Has anyone run into this?

Re: Combat project
Off to sandblaster Wednesday. It’s getting painted with a single stage urethane paint.
I’m finding more and more parts needed.
I’ll take a good look at the wombat tank I got and see if it’s worth trying to fix.

Re: Combat project
Thanks for your response. I’ll keep my eye out for wombat parts too. I may end up going with plastic fenders and tank if they’re scares.
Bike came with a wombat tank, but it has holes in the saddle area. Has anyone had luck brazing holes in a tank?

Re: Combat project
Had some time this weekend for tear down.
By the lack of response, are combats hard to get parts for??
Tank, fenders, bars, chain guard, kickstand.
Question...can the cushions in rear hub wear out?? I have some slop when I grab sprocket and rock it back and forth

Combat project
Well, call me sick but I just picked up another Hodaka. Early production combat wombat. Aftermarket tank and fenders. Bassani silencer. My father rode one back in day, I chased him with my dirt squirt when I was a kid. I want to restore it back to stock. I need tank, fenders and handle bars. If anyo...

It has 150psi compression, 95 mains, clip in 3rd setting.
I’ll look at baffle closer.
I just remember these being faster when I was a kid.

Re: New member new project
I made some progress finally (I thought) I decided not to do a total paint. I went thru most things, cleaned and polished most everything. Every nut and bolt. Painted a few things. 2 things needed addressed... 1. Clutch didn’t feel right. 2. No power in 5th gear. I blue printed clutch, replaced inne...
