Re: Back to reed valve jetting on a Super Rat
I can see that JB Weld loosening up and getting sucked in to your intake and trashing the top end.

Re: 18" rear rim on 01 DS
That's a good idea, but other than a good set of fork tubes, and a better seat/seat pan than the one I have, that's all I need for this one. Everything else is done, except I'm just getting started on the motor freshen up now, so we'll see how that goes. Did as Super Combat ish paint job on it. I'll...

Re: 18" rear rim on 01 DS
Great, thank you for the info. I had no idea the later RT's had a larger rear wheel. I'll have to think about what to do. I saw that spokes are about a hundred bucks a set, so if I went that route, I'd want to put a nice set of aluminum rims on it to. Then we're talking big money. In the meantime, I...

18" rear rim on 01 DS
Rusty spokes, dinged up rim, and lack of any tire selection have me thinking about mounting an 18" rear rim on my model 01 DS. Has anyone had any issues running a stock 18" SR or Wombat rim and hub on a DS ?

Re: Ace 100 B+ won't go into 4th gear
A manual is on the way. And like I said, it's the first chance I've had to ever even look at them. They were purchased and stored as possible resto projects if I ever retire. I haven't had more than a week off in 30 years except for surgery. Anyway, I've got the transmission shifting into all gears,...

Ace 100 B+ won't go into 4th gear
I recently acquired a 1972 Ace 100 B+ from the daughter of a family friend who passed away. The bike had sat for a dozen years or so, and after doing the usual, tank and petcock cleaning, fuel lines, filter, crankcase oil, etc., it fired on the 2nd kick. After several runs up the street, I could not...

Re: New/possibly larger carb for 01 Dirt Squirt
Thanks for the quick reply. My thought was to build a little bit of a hot rod. I've painted it Ford tangerine orange with a Ford engine blue frame, kind of a Super Combat clone, and sourced a Torque Engineering down pipe as well. It won't be raced, just a little piece of jewelry to be ridden around ...

New/possibly larger carb for 01 Dirt Squirt
First post. Going to be re-building my 01 Dirt Squirt motor in the near future, which I'm sure I will need help with, but I know the stock 26 mikuni was pretty much junk when I got the bike. I would like to give the bike a bit more snot, maybe a little port work too. Thinking about a 28 or 30 mm. An...
