Re: No spark!!!

Not to hi jack here, but a comment. The bike I’m rebuilding has a wire bolted to the right side behind the battery box. It’s not attached anywhere else. I assume this is a ground. Not sure if it’s stock or not. Don’t know if you have said wire.

Re: B+ clutch pressure piece

With gasket and throwchain you might be into something and I think that’s what’s going on. My clutch nut is stripped so I can’t properly tighten it until I source another. Thanks

Re: B+ clutch pressure piece

Thanks guys, yes the long one sits just proud, short one flush. I have to check again, but the long one allowed NO shims yo be used. Thanks. I just wanted a confirmation.

Re: B+ clutch pressure piece

Thanks throwchain pretty much what I’m getting at. Brand new clutch plates, the longer one seems like it will work sans shims. Shorter one with shims. Just wondering which is proper. Thanks.

Re: B+ clutch pressure piece

Hmm the longer one doesn’t allow for any free play adjustments. The short one that sits flush allows for adjustment rings.

B+ clutch pressure piece

The small rod that goes in the case. I thought I lost mine. Well I found 2. One sits flush and the other is a bit longer and sticks out. Which is proper? I don’t see a length in the manual.

Re: 50mm rings

Thanks Al!, when I removed the rings I did not see this part. I only realized it when I reread over the manual that I saw it in the diagram. Thanks! I’ll probably have a few more questions. I’ll just text you if that’s okay. I found another set of petcocks FYI

Re: 50mm rings

Hi reading my manual about install and have a question. What’s the “steel expander ring”? I didn’t see anything when the rings were removed.

After a trip over to see Al for some measurements I ordered the above mentioned rings. Gasket set next! Thanks

Re: 50mm rings

Hi Al, I believe it’s a standard size piston. All I have are calipers to measure, bit all attempts landed right close to 50, but I’ve never done this and I want it proper. Well how about that another Hodaka person right up the street. If your available and willing to help I’d be grateful. Thanks.

50mm rings

Hello!, I’ve been around here awhile. Had to redo my account since it’s been a bit. I’m back on a project. First time rebuild. 71 b+. I redid the bottom, forks, new tires, nothing cosmetic. Anyway I’m ready to move on to the top end and as I’m sure you know it seems to be difficult to find stock rin...
